Flying Tigers Return Home Thursday for Six-Game Homestand

Lakeland, FL â€" The Lakeland Flying Tigers return home for a six-game homestand beginning Thursday, April 14 at Joker Marchant Stadium. Lakeland will host the Daytona Cubs from April 14-16 and the Dunedin Blue Jays from April 17-19. Tickets for all home games are available by calling the Flying Tigers at (863) 686-8075. Box seats are $6 and reserved seats are $5 and seniors 55 and over and children 14 and under receive a $1.00 discount. Saturday tickets are an additional $1. Wednesday All-You-Can-Eat tickets are $10. Parking is FREE.

Thursday, April 14 vs. Daytona Cubs @ 7:00 p.m. (Gates open at 5:30 p.m.)

Chili Throwdown at Tigertown presented by Budweiser to benefit American Red Cross Mid-Florida Region

Chili competition begins at 5:30 pm. There will be free beer samples courtesy of Budweiser from 5:30-7:00 pm AND $1 beer and soda will be available beginning at 5:30 pm until the end of the 7th inning. There will also be live music by "Channel Z" during the Throwdown.

Fire Departments from Lakeland and Polk County will compete for the opportunity to be the Flying Tigers Chili Throwdown Champion. Fire Departments will be judged in two categories; best chili as voted by the judges and the people's choice award which will be judged by the fans. Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third in each category.

Advance tickets to the Chili Throwdown are $10 and include free chili samples, free beer samples, live music and a ticket to the Flying Tigers game. Parking is free. Proceeds

from the event will benefit the American Red Cross Mid-Florida Region. To purchase advance tickets, please contact the American Red Cross at (863) 294-5941. $5 tickets are available the day of the game but do not include a game ticket.

Friday, April 15 vs. Daytona Cubs @ 7:00 p.m. (Gates open at 6:00 p.m.)

45th Anniversary T-Shirt Giveaway

The Flying Tigers will be giving away 45th Anniversary T-Shirts to the first 350 paid adults (ages 15 and over) sponsored by __________________. The t-shirt celebrates Lakeland's 45 year affiliation with the Detroit Tigers, the longest affiliation in Minor League Baseball.

Agriculture Night

The Flying Tigers will be hosting 4-H and the Future Farmers of America members. There will be a pre-game on-field parade as well as animals in the concourse. Part of the proceeds will benefit the local 4-H and Future Farmers of America programs.

Community Relations

The Flying Tigers, the Detroit Tigers Foundation of Florida and Centerplate will be hosting children and families from the Florida Baptist Children's Homes and Gulf Coast Community Services. They will receive complimentary tickets and food as well as the opportunity to meet players, Ace and South Paw.

"Pink in the Park 2" Presented by Allen & Company

The Flying Tigers are going "pink" to support the Mary Kay Foundation. The Mary Kay Foundation proudly supports research dedicated to finding cures for cancers that affect women and programs committed to ending domestic violence. Flying Tiger players and

coaches will be wearing pink jerseys during the game which will be raffled off after the game. Raffle tickets are available for purchase for $75 for the chance to pick what player's signed jersey you want.

Sunday, April 17 vs. Dunedin Blue Jays @ 1:00 p.m. (Gates open at noon)

Sunday is Kids Day. All kids 14 and under will receive free admission to the game. Kids can play catch on the field beginning at noon (weather permitting). Kids can also run the bases just like the Flying Tigers following the game (weather permitting). All fans will receive a voucher for a free sundae compliments of Dairy Queen.

Monday, April 18 vs. Dunedin Blue Jays @ 7:00 p.m. (Gates open at 6:00 p.m.)

Monday is $1 hot dog night. Fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs all night. Also, check The Ledger for a special two-for-one ticket offer compliments of the Ledger Media Group.

Tuesday, April 19 vs. Dunedin Blue Jays @ 7:00 p.m. (Gates open at 6:00 p.m.)
