David Gilbert Signed to ATO by Rockford

Rockford, Ill. - Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Sunday that center David Gilbert (ZHIL-behr) has signed an amateur try-out agreement with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League

The Chateauguay, Quebec native spent his second season with the Acadie-Bathurst Titans in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The 20 year-old racked up 51 points (28g-23a) in 52 games.

In 209 career QMJHL games between Quebec and Acadie-Bathurst (2007-11), the centerman has tallied 70 goals and 86 assists.

Gilbert was the Blackhawks seventh round pick (#209 overall) in the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Last season, Gilbert played in one game with Rockford and registered an assist in his professional debut.

Next Home Game: Friday, April 8 vs. Lake Erie Monsters: The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. Rockford returns home after a five-game, 12-day road swing to take on the Lake Erie Monsters for the sixth and final time this season. The IceHogs will be celebrating Hammy's birthday with several area mascots as the team opens the final weekend of the 2010-11 season.
