Cecil Fielder to Join Torrington Titans

March 26, 2011 - Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) Torrington Titans

Torrington, CT- Long time major leaguer and the former World Series Champion, Cecil Fielder, has agreed to serve on the Torrington Titans newly formed Baseball Advisory Board. Additional board members will be announced in the following weeks. Fielder will be making a trip up to Fuessenich Park during the 2011 season to work with Titans players, in addition to holding a picture and autograph session at the ballpark.

"We are extremely lucky to have Cecil be a member of our baseball advisory board. His knowledge of the game as both a player and manager make him a vital asset to the Titans." CEO of Carminucci Sports Group, Chris Carminucci remarked. Fielder's career began as a youngster in the Los Angeles area, eventually playing for the University of Nevada- Las Vegas and most recently managing the Atlantic City Surf of the Can-Am league. Fielder had a 15-year major league career playing for the Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, Anaheim Angels and Cleveland Indians.

As Torrington Titans strides toward opening day, the baseball advisory group was formed in the belief that multiple opinions from good baseball people will help develop a sound, solid organization. Carminucci Sports Group has created various advisory boards for each of the team's they own or operate. "An advisory board ensures a sturdy infrastructure for the Titans and any other team we operate. It will be a tremendous honor for our boys to learn and work with a World Series champion" Darren Harrison-Panis, President of CSG stated.

The Torrington Titans Baseball Advisory Board will function as panel of members assisting in the professional development of Torrington Titans baseball players, both on and off the field, for many years to come.
