River City Rascals News Release
The 2011 campaign marks the 13th season for the River City Rascals (Frontier League) and 20th season for new Team President, John Kuhn, in professional baseball. Today, the Rascals have announced the hiring of Kuhn to take over operations at T.R. Hughes Ballpark.
Prior to joining the Rascals as Team President, John served as President of the Sioux Falls Canaries (American Association) from September, 2004 through December, 2009. John has had the privilege to work for many great baseball people over his 20 years but most notably was under the tutelage of Mike Veeck. "John is quite simply one of the best in the game. He and Steve Malliet will have some fun," said Veeck.
The new President adds. "The River City Rascals have been a great franchise since they started and I am very excited to be working at beautiful T.R. Hughes Ballpark with General Manager, Chris Franklin, and the rest of the staff. I look forward to meeting thousands of baseball-mad fans in the area."
Kuhn graduated Cum Laude from Tusculum College in Greenville, Tennessee with a BS in Business Administration (1990) and lettered in varsity baseball each year. Prior to working for the Canaries Kuhn served as the Director of Corporate Sales for the St. Paul Saints (Northern League) and Joliet JackHammers (Northern League). His previous Frontier League experience comes as the former President / General Manager / Minority Partner of the London Werewolves and Kalamazoo Kodiaks. Kuhn earned a start in professional baseball with the Fort Myers Sun Sox of the Senior Professional Baseball Association.
Rascals owner Steve Malliet comments. "We feel very fortunate to bring on board a person of John's qualifications and experience. We're excited to have him on board."
