
Memphis Grizzlies Assign Demarre Carroll to NBA Development League

NEW YORK, Dec. 14, 2010 - Memphis Grizzlies forward DeMarre Carroll was assigned to the Dakota Wizards, the Grizzlies' NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced today. The assignment marks the 19th time in the 2010-11 season an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, and it is the first assignment for Carroll, a second-year pro out of Missouri.
Carroll (6-8, 212) has appeared in four games this season for Memphis. He played in 71 games for the Grizzlies last season, averaging 2.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in 11.2 minutes.
The Grizzlies selected Carroll in the first round (27th overall) of the 2009 NBA Draft. After transferring from Vanderbilt, where he played his first two collegiate seasons, Carroll averaged 14.9 points and 6.9 rebounds in two seasons with the Tigers, earning All-Big 12 First Team and AP All-America Honorable Mention honors as a senior
