Louisiana IceGators News Release

LAFAYETTE, LA - The Louisiana IceGators, Henry Performance Lab and Henry Safety Technologies are proud to implement a vital sign-monitoring program for injury prevention, education, and fan entertainment. Fans can download the performance code sheet and follow along at the games.

Dr. Henry and his team of experts are working with the players, coaches, and IceGator administrators to analyze on ice and off ice performance and recovery to keep the 'Gators in motion. This collaboration promises to bring the organization back to a high level of competition in the Southern Professional Hockey League and the IceGators are setting the trend for new age sports performance.

The performance code is a range of five colors. The maximum effort is red and when players are in this zone, they are experiencing burning thighs, heavy breathing, fatigue, and anger or excitement. The lowest level is recovery and the color is gray. At this point the players are experiencing a restful state of mind and their body is at ease.

The goal of this monitoring system is injury prevention and player longevity. The coaching staff will now have the ability to know when players are getting fatigued and will be able to make adjustments based on new and up to the minute information. This will also be able to entertain fans at the games. By displaying each player's physiological parameters on the Vision Board, fans will be able to follow their favorite player's physical exertion on the ice and develop a new appreciation for the players and the game. In addition to entertaining the fans it will also help fans gain knowledge about an athlete's physiology.

The IceGators return to the Dome for a two game series against the Fayetteville FireAntz, on Friday December 10 and Saturday, December 11. Don't miss your chance to bring a group to the game and take advantage of the 10 for 10 program. Groups of 10 can purchase tickets for $10. Call (337) 704-4423 for great season ticket and mini package opportunities, as well as the 10 for 10 program.
