RiverHawks Add Gomes and Baker

The Augusta RiverHawks have announced that they have acquired defensemen Myles Gomes and Drew Baker. They have joined the team in Knoxville, TN where they will play tonight against the Ice Bears.

The RiverHawks made the acquisitions on the heels of losing defenseman Brett Dickenson to retirement this week.

The 22-year-old Gomes was released by the Fayetteville FireAntz earlier in the week. In 12 games with the FireAntz this season he has two goals and added four assists. He is in his first professional season after a year in Canadian Collegiate hockey for Ryerson University.

Baker is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound defenseman from Dawsonville, GA. He spent 28 games last season with the Louisiana Ice Gators of the Southern Professional Hockey League scoring a goal and adding six assists. This season he played in the Federal Hockey League for the Akwasasne Warriors scoring four goals in just 17 games.

The RiverHawks are back in action at the James Brown Arena Saturday, December 4th against the Columbus Cottonmouths. The puck drops at 7:30pm.
