
Salmon Kings Get Ryan Turek Back

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that defenseman Ryan Turek has been released by Manitoba.
The 23-year old, under contract to the Salmon Kings, will rejoin the club for on-ice training camp sessions at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre this week leading up to two exhibition contests versus the UBC Thunderbirds this Saturday and Sunday.
Drafted by the St. Louis Blues (2006, round four, #94 overall), Turek spent the last two seasons in their organization playing for their ECHL-affiliate Alaska Aces. Prior to turning professional, the blue liner spent time at Michigan State University, helping lead the Spartans to the 2007 NCAA Championship.
The Salmon Kings kick-off the 2010-11 season with two exhibition contests versus the UBC Thunderbirds on Saturday, October 9th and Sunday, October 10th. Admission is by donation to the TLC Fund for Kids, while hotdogs, popcorn and medium pop are available to purchase for only $1 each!
