
Nationals Extend Player Development Contract with Potomac

(WOODBRIDGE, VA) The Potomac Nationals are pleased to announce the extension of their player development agreement with the Washington Nationals. 2010 is the sixth season of Potomac's affiliation with the Nationals.
Over the course of the affiliation, Potomac has seen a number of former players make their Major League debuts. Ian Desmond, John Lannan, Danny Espinosa and Drew Storen are just a few of the major contributors this season in Washington who donned a Potomac uniform at Pfitzner Stadium.
"We are very pleased to renew our player development contract with the Washington Nationals," said Potomac Nationals owner Art Silber. "We have had a positive relationship with the Nationals, and have enjoyed watchingso many of our former players make their big league dreams come true in Washington. We look forward to working with the Nationals over the next four years, and are excited as we watch these young players advance their careers to the major leagues."
The Potomac Nationals won the Carolina League Championship in 2008 and are currently tied a game a piece for the 2010 Championship which resumes Thursday night at 7:03. Potomac also hosts games Friday and Saturday at Pfitzner Stadium, a half hour south of Nationals Park.
