MISSOULA, MT - In the home finale for the Missoula Osprey for the 2010 season, the club set a new single-season attendance mark, but the Osprey could not help the fans celebrate with a win.

The Helena Brewers put themselves on the brink of the playoffs with a 12-3 win over the Osprey on Sunday at Ogren Park Allegiance Field in front of 2,090 fans.

That pushed the 2010 Osprey season attendance to 87,345 - which set a new Missoula standard. The old record, at 86,881, was achieved in 2007, and in 38 dates. The Osprey had just 37 official dates this season, due to a rainout that was made up as part of a doubleheader.

In the game, the Brewers (21-13, 40-32) scored four times in the third, and eight more in the top of the seventh, to take a 12-2 lead. The Osprey (14-20, 28-44) scored single runs in the first, fifth and seventh innings. Helena would clinch at least a wild-card berth with one more win and one more Billings loss.

Roberto Rodriguez had three of Missoula's 11 hits, doubling twice and adding a triple, and scored all three Osprey runs. Matt Helm and Fidel Pena had two hits each, while Raul Navarro added a hit and a RBI.

Adam Eaton - who was named to the Pioneer League All-Star Team, and finished second in the league MVP voting - went 0-for-3 in his final game in a Missoula uniform. After the game, it was announced that Eaton had been promoted to Class A Short Season Yakima. His .385 batting average and .500 on-base percentage both set new Osprey standards, and he still could become the first Osprey player since Jesus Cota in 2001 to win a league batting title.

The Osprey will finish the 2010 season on the road with a four-game swing through Billings and Helena. Missoula will open a two-game series in Billings on Monday at Dehler Park. The Osprey will send left-hander David Holmberg to the mound, and he will oppose Mustangs right-hander Jonathan Correa.

Notes from the Nest: It was also announced that relief pitcher Jeremy Erben has been promoted to Class A Advanced Visalia. The right-hander was 1-3 with three saves and a 4.24 ERA for the Osprey Right-hander Blake Perry made his professional debut on Sunday when he pitched the first inning for the Osprey, and managed to pitch around a two-out double. The right-hander from Danville, Kentucky was the sixth round pick by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2010 MLB Draft.
