(Boise, ID) - The ECHL's Idaho Steelheads and Utah Grizzlies announced Tuesday that the teams would square off for a pair of preseason games on Friday, October 8, and Saturday, October 9.

The Steelheads will host the Grizzlies at Qwest Arena in Boise on October 8 in the first-ever Higgins and Rutledge Insurance "Season Ticket Holders Only" game. Fans who own a 2010-2011 ticket plan for the Steelheads will be given a block of general-admission tickets to invite friends and family to the game, which will begin at 7:10 PM.

"It's a nice little perk we're able to give our best fans," team president Eric Trapp said. "With Opening Night the following weekend, we thought this was a golden opportunity to do something for our Season Ticket Holders."

Higgins and Rutledge Insurance will be handing out 2,500 radios that can be used to tune in to a special, in-arena game broadcast with "Voice of the Steelheads" Doug Plagens and Will Hoenike, the team's director of media and community relations. Since the broadcast is only available inside Qwest Arena, the two will spend more time introducing fans to players and new head coach Hardy Sauter as they watch the game unfold in front of them.

Seating for the game is general admission to ensure Season Ticket Holders are able to sit with their guests. There will be no walk-up ticket sales for the game.

Saturday night, the Steelheads and Grizzlies will meet at the Eccles Ice Center in Logan, UT. Game time in Logan is 7:30 PM.

The Steelheads open the regular season on October 15 when they host the Victoria Salmon Kings at Qwest Arena. Ticket plans for the 2010-2011 season are available right now, starting at just $275 per seat for all 36 home games during the regular season. Partial-season plans are also available. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.
