Mad Ants Announce 2010 Open Tryouts

Fort Wayne, IN., August 25, 2010 - The Fort Wayne Mad Ants announced today that the local player open tryouts for the 2010-2011 season will be held on Saturday, October 16th and Sunday, October 17th 2010. They will be held at Wambsganss Gymnasium on the Concordia Theological Seminary campus located at 6600 N Clinton St, Fort Wayne, IN, 46825. Check-in and late registration will begin at 9:00 am with tryouts beginning promptly at 10:00am.
The Mad Ants local player tryouts offer athletes an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants' coaching staff, including head coach Joey Meyer. Players will compete to earn an invitation to the team's training camp, which will begin in early November.
A total of eight players from the first three seasons found a spot on the Mad Ants roster by way of open tryouts. Last year's roster consisted of three open tryout competitors; DeWitt Scott, Anthony Kent, and Ron Howard all played significant roles for the Mad Ants in the team's third season.
Applicants can pre-register by submitting the official registration, disclosure and release forms, in addition to a $150 non-refundable fee by October 14, 2010. The fee for day of registration will be $200. Payments must be made by money order or cashier's check. Application forms are available at www.fortwaynehoops.com.
The Mad Ants 2010-2011 season kicks off on Sunday, November 21st at Memorial Coliseum with season tickets starting at just $99. For ticket information contact the Mad Ants office at (260) 469-4667.
