Florida Flight News Release

(Kissimmee, FL) - (July 28, 2010) - The Florida Flight will join the Continental Basketball League (CBL) for the 2011 season, it was announced today by CBL Commissioner Dennis Truax. The Flight will begin play in April 2011 and play at the Kissimmee Civic Center, located at 201 East Dakin Avenue in lovely historic Downtown Kissimmee.

The Flight, owned by Mark King, will join the CBL with the goal of continuing their momentum from their first season of play.

"We had a great first season here in Kissimmee," King said. "The support we received from our fans, sponsors, and booster club members played a vital part in getting us to where we are today. Handling the challenges this inaugural season brought us would have been impossible without them."

"We are very pleased to have Mark and the Flight in the CBL," stated CBL Commissioner Dennis Truax. "Mark is one of the most passionate owners in all of basketball. He has taken a first-year franchise and made it a model for all to follow. I see more great things for his franchise in the CBL. He will be a formable opponent for all of our member teams."

King states that league leadership played a big part in his decision. "Dennis Truax has a proven basketball executive record," he explained. "He brings a resume with experience from the United States Basketball League (USBL) and the historically enamored Continental Basketball Association (CBA). Our biggest issue this past year was a lack of consistent league leadership. Moving to the CBL will solve these issues immediately. We are excited, and look forward to challenging for a CBL championship next season."
