Bloomington PrairieThunder News Release

Bloomington PrairieThunder Head Coach Jarrod Skalde has announced that the team's leading scorers from the 2009-10 hockey season will be back in the Twin Cities for the 2010-11 season as the PrairieThunder prepares to play in the Central Hockey League. Forwards Craig Macdonald and Jon Booras have agreed to contract terms for the coming season which gets underway in mid-October.

Twenty-eight year old Craig Macdonald returns to Bloomington after leading the team in scoring this past season. The Milton, Ontario native scored 44 goals and added 46 assists for 90 pts in 76 games. He was third overall in scoring in the IHL and 16 of his 44 goals were power play goals. His 44 goals ranked him second in the league. This will be Craig's seventh professional season and his second in Bloomington. He'll be returning to the Central Hockey League where he played three seasons in New Mexico from 2006 to 2009. Macdonald turned pro in 2004-05 with the United Hockey League's Elmira Jackals following a four-year college career at Elmira College.

Billings, Montana's Jon Booras returns for his fifth season with the PrairieThunder. Booras, also twenty-eight years old, tallied 80 points on 23 goals and 57 assists last year making him the PThunder's second leading scorer and sixth overall in the IHL. Jon's 57 assists ranked him third overall in that category. The 2010-11 season will mark Booras' sixth professional season. After playing four seasons at Lake Superior State University, his first pro season was 2005-06 with the Muskegon Fury in the UHL.

Craig Macdonald and Jon Booras join John Snowden as the PrairieThunder's first three players confirmed for the 2010-11 season. "My priority was to get our leading scorers back as quickly as possible for the upcoming season," said PrairieThunder Head Coach Jarrod Skalde. "Craig Macdonald had a breakout season last year and we look for him to build on that performance. Regarding Jon Booras, his returning to Bloomington for a fifth year shows his commitment to the community. He's excited about returning and helping the PrairieThunder build a championship team this coming year."

Bloomington begins their fifth season in mid-October. Home games are played at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in downtown Bloomington, Illinois and the team's home opener is scheduled for Friday, October 22nd. 2010-2011 season tickets are now on sale and for more information on the PrairieThunder please call 309-585-0507.
