
Bandits Drop Second Straight with 6-1 Loss to Lake County

Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
DAVENPORT, Iowa - The Quad Cities River Bandits fell behind 5-0 and were only able to muster up one run in the bottom of the fifth as they fell for the second straight night to the Lake County Captains. The Bandits were out hit 13-4 in the loss scoring their only run on a solo home run in the 6-1 loss.
Ryde Rodriguez hit his fifth home run of the season in the fifth providing Quad Cities with their only run of the evening. Matt Adams, Ryan Jackson, and Luis Mateo added the other three Bandit hits, all were singles.
Shelby Miller (2-4) made the start for the River Bandits going five innings. He surrendered five runs on 10 hits in his fourth loss of the season. He struck out a career high of nine batters in the loss. Chris Notti and Aaron Terry stopped the bleeding for the Bandits, allowing just two hits between them in the final two innings. Trey Haley (5-4) picked up the win for the Captains surrendering just one run on the solo homer by Rodriguez. Jeremy Johnson (1) chalked up his first save of the season after being charged with just one hit through the final three innings of work.
The River Bandits look to salvage the final game of the season on Friday night. Quad Cities will send righty Deryk Hooker (4-4) to face off with fellow right-hander Clayton Cook (4-5). Fans can enjoy the Ghost Rider Cowboy Monkey Rodeo along with a post-game fireworks extravaganza on another Lujack's Fireworks Friday Night. The first 1,000 fans will receive a free koozie, a $1.00 discount on a hot dog and a free apple pie on Lujack Chevy baseball, hot dogs and apple pie night.
