Anaheim Signs Left Wing Brandon McMillan

Syracuse, NY (May 28, 2010) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Anaheim Ducks have signed left wing Brandon McMillan to a three-year entry-level contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

McMillan, 20, appeared in 55 games with Kelowna (WHL) last season, tallying 25 goals, 42 assists and 63 penalty minutes to go along with a plus-11 rating. Ranking tied for second on the club in goals and third in points and assists, McMillan set career highs in all three categories.

The 5-11, 185-pound McMillan led Kelowna in postseason scoring, collecting five goals and 10 assists in 12 games and scored the game-winning goal on April 3 in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals at Tri-City.

In addition, McMillan has represented Team Canada on multiple occasions, including the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship in Regina and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where he scored four goals and four assists in six contests en route to the silver medal. He also participated in the 2008 IIHF Under-18 World Championship in Russia, registering three points (1g, 2a) in the tournament.

A native of Richmond, British Columbia, McMillan notched 14 goals and 35 assists in 70 contests with Kelowna in 2008-09, helping his club to the WHL Championship and a berth in the Memorial Cup. He finished fifth on the club in assists, sixth in points and registered a career-high five-point night (3g, 2a) on November 21at Prince George.

McMillan was selected by Anaheim in the third round, 85th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He skated in 251 career WHL games, all with Kelowna, recording 169 points (56g, 113a).
