CHICAGO, IL (May 27, 2010) - The Chicago Fire (2-3-4, 10 points) returned to MLS league play and were unable to earn their second home victory of the season, as David Ferreira scored early and McBride tallied in the 40th minute to give the Fire a 1-1 draw against Brimstone Cup rivals FC Dallas at TOYOTA PARK.

The Fire earned their fourth draw of the season and remain unbeaten in five of their last six matches. The Fire are winless against FC Dallas at TOYOTA PARK going 0-4-1 in Brimstone Cup matches played at the Fire's soccer-specific home.

FC Dallas took the early lead when Wilman Conde misplayed a clearance attempt five yards from his own 18-yard box. Ferreira pounced on the opportunity, dribbled in on goal, sidestepped a sliding CJ Brown and coolly placed the ball into the back of the net past a diving Andrew Dykstra to put Dallas on top after six minutes of play.

Down a goal, the Fire pressed for the equalizer and had numerous chances to even the score in the first half. None better than in the 35th minute when Justin Mapp picked out Mike Banner with a driven cross from the left side that Banner was unable to volley home from within the six-yard box.

The Fire found their touch and pulled level in the 40th minute as Logan Pause freed Justin Mapp on the left side. Mapp sent a perfectly lofted cross into the FC Dallas box where McBride rose to the ball and powered it into the netting past FC Dallas goalkeeper Kevin Hartman. The forward leads the Fire with four goals on the season and is tied with six others for fourth in MLS in goals scored.

The Fire step away from league play for the second consecutive week as they play host to Italian giants AC Milan at TOYOTA PARK this Sunday, May 30 at 7:30 PM CT (FSC/FSE). After the Fire's international friendly with A.C. Milan, they'll continue their busy stretch of matches at TOYOTA PARK, first facing the expansion Philadelphia Union on Saturday, June 5 at 7:30 PM CT (My50) and rounding out their home stand with the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday, June 9 at 8:00 PM CT (My50).
