(Newark, N.J., May 13, 2010) - Atlantic League officials today announced that fan balloting for the 2010 Atlantic League All-Star Game presented by T-Mobile will begin online at noon on Thursday, May 13th. The game will be hosted by the Long Island Ducks at Suffolk County Sports Park on Tuesday, July 6th at 7:05 p.m.
"We're excited to partner with T-Mobile and bring the 2010 All-Star Game to Long Island," says Ducks GM Michael Pfaff. "Fans will now have the opportunity to vote for their favorite stars to be on display July 6th."
Voting for the 2010 All-Star Game presented by T-Mobile will run through Thursday, June 24th, and fans can cast their ballots online at www.atlanticleague.com. Fans may also vote at any T-Mobile location in their area via internet kiosks. Fan voting will determine the position players for the Freedom and Liberty Division squads, while coaches, management, and media will determine the pitchers. Fans will also have the opportunity to "write-in" a candidate for each division.
The Bears hosted the 2009 All-Star Game at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium and sent five players, including current Bear Armando Benitez.
