Austin's Dwayne Jones And Marcus Williams Named Co-Performers Of The Week

NEW YORK, March 29, 2010 - Dwayne Jones and Marcus Williams of the Austin Toros were today named NBA Development League Co-Performers of the Week for games played during the week of March 22 when the Toros recorded a 4-0 record. The award is the second for Jones and the first for Williams this season.

Jones, 6-11, 250-pounds, recorded four double-doubles last week in home wins over the Springfield Armor and Bakersfield Jam. He scored more than 20 points in three games, including a 27-point outing on March 28 in a 122-110 win over the Jam in Austin. For the week, Jones averaged 21.0 points, shooting 54 percent (26-of-48) from the field to go with 14.8 rebounds. An NBA D-League All-Star, Jones is averaging 17.6 points (10th in the NBA D-League) on 60 percent shooting (264-of-442, 2nd in the NBA D-League) to go with a league-leading 16.0 rebounds in 46 games this season.

Williams, 6-7, 210-pounds, re-joined the Toros last week and scored more than 20 points in all four of the team's games. He scored a season-high 29 points on March 24 in a 118-89 win over Springfield. For the week, Williams averaged 25.3 points, connecting on 61 percent from the field, to go with 5.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds.

Other top performers last week included Bakersfield's Brian Butch, who averaged 21.7 points and 16.7 rebounds in three games for the Jam; Erie's Cedric Jackson, who averaged 20.1 points, 10.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists in three games for the BayHawks; Sioux Fall's Alexander Johnson, who averaged 25.7 points and 10.3 rebounds in three games for the Skyforce; Fort Wayne's Rob Kurz, who averaged 16.0 points and 12.3 rebounds in three games for the Mad Ants; Fort Wayne's Oliver Lafayette, who averaged 24.3 points, 7.7 assists and 6.3 rebounds in three games for the Mad Ants; Iowa's Cartier Martin, who averaged 29.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in two games for the Energy; Albuquerque's Keith McLeod, who averaged 29.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games for the Thunderbirds; Rio Grande Valley's Ernest Scott, who averaged 24.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games for the Vipers; and Iowa's Curtis Stinson, who averaged 23.0 points, 13.0 assists and 7.5 rebounds in two games for the Energy.
