Louisville Bats News Release

GOODYEAR, Ariz. - The Louisville Bats begin their 14-game 2010 Spring Training schedule tomorrow (Wednesday, March 17) versus the Fresno Grizzles, the Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. With the move to Goodyear, Arizona, comes a slight change in the Bats' Spring Training schedule. Last season in Sarasota, Florida, they played all 14 games against International League opponents. This year they will only face IL squads three times, with games against the Columbus Clippers (2 - Cleveland) and Charlotte Knights (1 - Chicago White Sox). The remainder of their contests will be played against Pacific Coast League teams, with six of them being against the Albuquerque Isotopes, the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Bats round out the rest of their spring schedule with games versus the Nashville Sounds (3 - Milwaukee) and Tacoma Rainiers (1 - Seattle).

All home games will take place at Goodyear Ballpark and start at 1:00 p.m. MST, or 4:00 p.m. EST. All Minor League exhibition games are free and open to the public.

The Louisville Bats begin their 2010 regular season schedule on the road against the Toledo Mud Hens, Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, on Thursday, April 8th at 5:30 p.m. The Bats then open their home schedule on Wednesday, April 14th, against the Indianapolis Indians, Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
