THIS WEEK...

Wednesday, March 10 @ Manchester Monarchs (Los Angeles Kings)

It's been nearly four months since the B-Sens last faced the Monarchs; Nov. 14, in a high scoring tilt at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena (a 6-5 shootout victory for Manchester). The B-Sens have been successful in Manchester all time, escaping with a 3-1-1-0 record. Special teams may not be as helpful to the B-Sens as they hope with the Monarchs boasting the league's second best penalty kill at home - allowing only 13 goals on 123 chances (89.4%). When last these two teams met, forward Cory Elkins recorded three points against the B-Sens (two goals, one assist).

Friday, March 12 @ Worcester Sharks (San Jose Sharks)

Friday, the B-Sens take on the Atlantic Division leading Sharks (38-20-2-3, 81 points) in Worcester. The Sharks visited Binghamton February 19, earning a 4-3 victory over the Senators. The B-Sens may face an uphill battle. The Sharks are 6-4 in their last ten home games. Worcester's Andrew Desjardins is tied for the league lead in first goals (seven), while three players tallied a multi-point game when these two teams last met; Danny Grouxl (two assists), Jason Demers (two assists), Jamie McGinn (one goal, one assist), although McGinn is currently on recall to San Jose.

Saturday, March 13 @ Portland Pirates (Buffalo Sabres)

The B-Sens wrap up their season series versus Portland on Saturday. Binghamton defeated the Pirates at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena, 4-3 on Jan. 8. Portland's leading scorer, Mark Mancari (22 goals, 40 assists for 62 points in 61 games played), is currently on recall to the parent Buffalo Sabres, but the Pirates boast a strong presence in net with Jhonas Enroth who has put up a 27-18-1 record with a.916 save percentage and 2.43 goals-against average.

Sunday, March 14 @ Providence Bruins (Boston Bruins)

The B-Sens end a long four game haul on the road with a Sunday matinee in Providence. The Bruins visited the B-Sens on Feb. 26, posting a 6-4 win, a game in which John Lammers posted a hat trick, while Zach Hamill notched four assists. Josh Hennessy (one goal, two assists) and Ryan Keller (one goal, one assist) provided the most potent offense for Binghamton against the Bruins. For the second straight night the B-Sens will face a tough opposition between the pipes, as Dany Sabourin recently returned from recall to Boston. Sabourin has a 23-20-0 record with a.914 save percentage and 2.63 goals-against average.

SENS SNIPPITS

Martin St. Pierre earned the nod as the B-Sens' nominee for Reebok/AHL Player of the week for the week ending March 7. St. Pierre recorded seven points (three goals, four assists) in a busy five game week for the B-Sens. One of his assists came on Josh Hennessy's game-tying tally Sunday, March 7 versus Syracuse, helping to push the game into overtime and earn the B-Sens an all important point in the match. The Embrun, Ontario native entered the week leading the B-Sens in assists with 39 and is ranked first overall in pints with nearly a point per game played; 20 goals, 39 assists for 59 points in 60 games played.

Josh Hennessy earned his 100th assist as a Binghamton Senator on Kaspars Daugavins' goal versus the Syracuse Crunch on March 7. Hennessy ranks third all-time for the Binghamton Senators in assists, trailing only Jason Spezza (117) and Denis Hamel (184).
