LOOKING BACK:

Both of Tuesday's AHL contests ended in overtime victories for the home team... Defenseman Yannick Weber's extra-session goal sent Hamilton to its ninth straight win, a 3-2 decision over Toronto... David Spina netted his first three goals of the season and capped the hat trick with the overtime winner as San Antonio edged Peoria, 6-5.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Sitting four points out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton hosts Albany on Wednesday before embarking on a three-game road trip this weekend... The Penguins, who are trying to avoid missing the playoffs for the first time since 2002, posted a 9-2 win on Feb. 17 in these teams' last meeting and show a 4-1-0-0 mark against the River Rats overall... Pens forward Chris Conner racked up a franchise-record six points (3g, 3a) in that victory but comes into Wednesday scoreless in consecutive games for the first time since a four-game drought from Jan. 8-16... Dustin Jeffrey paces Wilkes-Barre with 58 points (19-39-58) in 60 games overall and with eight points (1-7-8) in five games agianst Albany... The River Rats are 4-1-0-1 in their last six contests and sit three points up on Norfolk for second place in the East Division... Reigning Reebok/AHL Player of the Week Jerome Samson has a point in nine of his last 10 games (9-7-16) for Albany, and rookie Chris Terry is riding a six-game scoring streak (4-4-8) on the heels of a five-game drought... Wilkes-Barre is the only AHL team yet to earn a point when trailing after two periods (0-23-0-0).

Currently 1-2-0-1 on its seven-game road trip, Lake Erie continues the journey on Wednesday with a stop in Milwaukee five days after collecting a 3-2 shootout win over the Admirals last Friday... The Monsters are four points back of Manitoba for the North Division's final playoff spot, and Wednesday represents their one game in hand on the Moose... Lake Erie is 5-0-1-1 lifetime against Milwaukee, including a perfect 3-0-0-0 mark at the Bradley Center... Rookie Justin Mercier shows five points (2-3-5) in his last four games for the Monsters... Recent Lake Erie acquisition Kevin Porter collected six points (1-5-6) in seven clashes with Milwaukee this season when he was a member of San Antonio... Milwaukee is winless in three straight games (0-2-0-1), matching its longest drought of the season... Hugh Jessiman has a point in five of his last six games (3-3-6) for the Admirals, while Nick Spaling has found the scoresheet in four of his last five (2-2-4)... The Admirals have scored 76 goals in the second period this season, compared with 51 in the first period and 52 in the third.

Hartford, currently six points out of a playoff spot and trying to avoid missing the postseason for the first time in its 13-year history, pays a visit to Atlantic Division-leading Worcester on Wednesday... The Wolf Pack, who are 1-7-3-1 in their last 12 games overall, collected a 4-2 win over Worcester on Feb. 20 for their lone win in that span and show a perfect 4-0-0-0 mark against the Sharks for the season... Hartford's Corey Locke ranks third in the AHL with 69 points (24-45-69) in 64 games and is a goal away from equaling the 25 he scored last season for Houston... Second-year pro Dale Weise has a team-high four goals and six points in four meetings with Worcester on the season... Sharks rookie Logan Couture has 1-5-6 in six games since returning from a 10-game injury absence, and defenseman Derek Joslin is on a three-game scoring streak (1-3-4)... Steven Zalewski leads the Sharks in goals (20) and points (56) for the season but has just 0-3-3 in his last nine outings.

ALUMNI REPORT:

Second-year defenseman Jeff Penner, who has collected 27 points in 55 games for AHL Providence this season, made his NHL debut on Tuesday in Boston's 4-3 overtime loss at Toronto... Mathieu Darche, still tied for third on Hamilton with 16 AHL goals this season, scored a pair as Montreal got past Tampa Bay, 5-3... Colin Wilson, who has 34 points in 40 games this year for AHL Milwaukee, tallied the game-winning goal to help Nashville over Atlanta, 2-1.

BY THE NUMBERS:

12 -- Shootouts played this season by Peoria, most of any team in the AHL... The Rivermen, who are 6-6 on the year in shootouts, continue a six-game road trip on Wednesday at Texas.
