Reading's Giliati Named ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. -Stefano Giliati of the Reading Royals is the Sher-wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for March 1-7.
He also received the honor for the week of Oct. 25 - Nov. 1, 2009.
The 22 year old scored 13 points (5g-8a), including one power-play goal and one game-winning goal, and recorded back-to-back two-goal games on March 6 in a 6-4 win against Johnstown and again on March 7 with a 6-5 overtime win against Kalamazoo. He had four points in three of his four games for the week and also recorded the second three-assist game of his career in Reading's 6-4 win at Trenton on March 2.
Giliati is currently on a seven-game point streak (7g-10a) that started when he scored two goals to help Reading beat Wheeling 5-4 on Feb. 26. He has 39 points (17g-22a) and is a +7 in 34 games this season with Reading. He has also appeared in 25 games this season with Toronto of the American Hockey League posting nine points (3g-6a) and eight penalty minutes.
The Montreal, Quebec native has 24 points (9g-15a) and 24 penalty minutes in 79 AHL games with Toronto since 2007. He also appeared in 13 playoff games in 2008 with Toronto amassing one assist.
Before turning professional, Giliati skated in 257 Quebec Major Junior Hockey Games for Shawinigan and Lewiston from 2004-2008 registering 207 points (94g-113a) and 271 penalty minutes. He appeared in an additional 32 QMJHL playoff games where he had 21 points (7g-14a) and 40 penalty minutes.
