LINCOLN, Neb. - Jason Zucker (Las Vegas, Nev.) notched a hat trick, while Bryan Rust (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) recorded four points (1-3) and netminder Jack Campbell (Port Huron, Mich.) made 37 saves as the U.S. National Under-18 Team rolled past the Lincoln Stars, 7-1, here tonight at the Ice Box.

Team USA got on the board first when Rust took the puck away from a Stars player at the blue line and sent a pass to Matthew Nieto (Long Beach, Calif.), who deflected it over netminder Jared Coreau's glove just 3:30 into the game. Zucker doubled the U.S. advantage when he separated an opponent from the puck, stickhandled around a defender and snapped a shot over Coreau's flailing blocker at 13:04. Campbell turned aside each of Lincoln's 13 shots in the opening 20 minutes.

Rust netted an unassisted goal 3:00 into the second stanza to make it 3-0. Just 39 seconds later, Zucker collected the puck off of a faceoff win by Bill Arnold (Needham, Mass.) and put a shot just under the crossbar. With Team USA on the power play just 2:11 later, Zucker took a feed from Nieto and one-timed it over new Lincoln goaltender Matt Green's glove to give the U.S. a commanding 5-0 lead. Jarrod Mermis put the Stars on the board when he potted a power-play goal with just 19 seconds remaining in the second period.

Michael Mersch (Park Ridge, Ill.) converted on a feed from Derek Forbort (Duluth, Minn.) on the right side of the net to make it 6-1 just 1:55 into the final frame. Nieto added another goal for Team USA at 5:16. Campbell stopped all 13 shots in the final frame to allow the U.S. to earn the 7-1 win.

The U.S. National Under-18 Team closes out its three-game road trip Sunday when it meets the Sioux City Musketeers at 4:05 p.m. CST at the Tyson Events Center.
