Levasseur Assigned, Pielmeier Recalled

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors announced today that their NHL affiliate, the Anaheim Ducks, have reassigned G J.P. Levasseur (luh-VAH-sur) to the Condors from Springfield in the American Hockey League and recalled G Timo Pielmeier from Bakersfield. In addition, D Luis Tremblay (TRAHM-blay) was acquired from the Toledo Walleye in exchange for future considerations and G Josh Johnson was traded to Reading for future considerations.
Levasseur, 23, was loaned to Springfield on Dec. 14, and has compiled a 6-13-0 record, with one shutout with the Falcons, who are mired in last place in the Atlantic Division. He has a 3.58 GAA and an.895 save percentage as well with Springfield. After spending most of training camp with Bakersfield, the Victoriaville, Quebec, native began the regular season with the Laredo Bucks in the Central Hockey League, putting up a 10-3-3 record with a 2.31 GAA and a.919 save percentage in 16 games. The former 7th round pick of the Ducks in 2005 was named the Goaltender of the Month for the CHL in November. Levasseur spent the entire 2008-09 season with Iowa in the AHL and split his rookie season between the AHL and ECHL in 2007-08.
Pielmeier, 20, has been a workhorse for the Condors over the last three months, appearing in 30 of the last 32 Condors games, dating back to Nov. 22. He is tied for the ECHL lead with 20 wins on the season, while ranking second in minutes and fourth in saves. Pielmeier represented the Condors at the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game in Ontario, and claimed the ECHL Goaltender of the Month in November, while also being selected by the fans as the Condor of the Month in both December and January.
Tremblay, 26, returns to Bakersfield, where he began his career in 2004-05. He split this season between the Stockton Thunder and Walleye in the ECHL, as well as the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs in the Central Hockey League. He totaled 11 assists and 123 PIM in 41 games. In his rookie season, Tremblay amassed 2g-22a-24pts and 122 PIM in 68 games, and has since gone on to suit up for Wheeling, Texas, and Trenton in the ECHL. In 2005-06, the 6-foot-1, 197-pound Val d'Or, Quebec, native had career highs with 14 goals and 30 points. He played four seasons of major junior hockey in the QMJHL with Baie-Comeau prior to turning pro.
Johnson, 26, was signed by Bakersfield on Dec. 9, though he appeared in only two games, winning his first start with the club and playing 92 minutes. He has been on Injured Reserve since Jan. 27, but was activated this morning, prior to the trade.
ON THE DOCKET:
The Condors host the Victoria Salmon Kings on Friday and Saturday at Rabobank Arena before heading to Ontario on Sunday to play the Reign.
