Wilmington Blue Rocks News Release

Wilmington, DE - At Frawley Stadium, fans just never know what they might see next. Take the 2010 season for example. Not only will Wilmington Blue Rocks patrons see quality Carolina League baseball on a nightly basis, but they will also enjoy 11 family-friendly entertainment acts sprinkled through the season. Perhaps the most highly anticipated of the group, are the one of a kind Cowboy Monkeys, who make their return to Judy Johnson Field for a two-night show June 18-19.

Anyone who missed their jaw-dropping performance last season may be wondering what exactly are the Cowboy Monkeys? Well, they are a rodeo style act, that go by the stage name Team Ghost Riders, which features monkeys, dressed as cowboys, riding on top of dogs as if they were horses, while herding rams. It is as amazing as it sounds, and it will be live at Frawley Stadium for two nights in mid-June.

The best part is, that's just the tip of the iceberg.

The Blue Crew will welcome to town ABC daytime star, Jacob Young, on Saturday, July 17. Young plays J.R. Chandler on the soap, "All My Children." He will sign autographs during the game, and throw out the first pitch before it. A VIP meet and greet session will also be available.

Earlier in the summer the ZOOperstars come to town on July 2, with their own special brand of inflatable family entertainment. Whether your favorite character is "Harry Canary," "Ichiroach Suzuki," or "Cow Ripken, Jr." there is always a ton of fun on ZOOperstars night.

Speaking of mascots who are a little different, don't miss REGGY, The Purple Party Dude, on May 22. With all of his local ties and zany antics (he's a mascot that talks) no one puts on a better show.

And for local football fans, the Philadelphia Eagles' mascot Swoop comes to town on Saturday, August 21, and he'll be joined by the always lovely Philadelphia Eagles cheerleaders.

Former pro wrestler George "The Animal" Steele will bring his strong-brand of entertainment to Frawley Stadium on Saturday, May 1. He won't even be the toughest character to grace the grounds of Judy Johnson Field in early-May however. That distinction belongs to the Marvel Comic Book character Iron Man, who comes to the Riverfront on Thursday, May 6.

The place for fun in 2010 is Frawley Stadium, and fans can be a part of all the action by purchasing individual tickets starting on Monday, February 15 by phone, at 302-888-BLUE, or online at the official website of the team, www.bluerocks.com.

The Blue Rocks will begin the 2010 season on the road on April 8 in Myrtle Beach, SC against the Pelicans (Atlanta Braves). The home opener comes on April 16 at Frawley Stadium this season, as the Blue Crew hosts the Potomac Nationals (Washington Nationals) at 7:05 p.m. The night will feature a post-game fireworks show, as will every Friday home game in 2010.
