WOODBRIDGE, VA - The Potomac Nationals' 15th-annual Hot Stove Banquet and Silent Auction raised a record $3,642 for the Prince William County Public Schools Education Foundation.
"It's a credit to our community that we were able to raise a record amount for the PWCPSEF, even with the bad weather keeping some guests away," Potomac Nationals Vice President/General Manager Jonathan Griffith said. "We're very proud to be a part of the Prince William community."
More than 130 guests braved the snow to participate in the banquet at the Hyatt Fair Lakes in Fairfax, Virginia, on Jan. 31. Many of the guests bid on a variety of items, from a Michelle Obama bobblehead to a Washington Capitals autographed hockey stick.
Every year, the Potomac Nationals receive donations for the silent auction from Minor League and Major League Baseball teams, NFL, NBA, NHL and MLS organizations and various Potomac Nationals sponsors.
Washington Nationals General Manager Mike Rizzo headlined this year's event, along with Director of Player Development Doug Harris and Director of Minor League Operations Mark Scialabba. Griffith and Potomac Nationals Chairman and CEO Art Silber also addressed those in attendance.
Opening Day at The Pfitz is set for April 8, when the Potomac Nationals host the Salem Red Sox. P-Nats season tickets and mini-plans are available now, so call 703-590-2311 to order yours today!
