Arizona's Chad Hinz and Bossier-Shreveport's John DeCaro Win Weekly Awards

(Tempe, Arizona) - The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipients for the Oakley Central Hockey League Player and Goaltender of the Week for the period ending January 31, 2010 are forward Chad Hinz of the Arizona Sundogs and goaltender John DeCaro of the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs.
Hinz was the catalyst in the Sundogs 2-0-1 week having a hand in seven of the team's 10 goals. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native finished the week with two goals and five assists with both goals serving as game winners for his team. The recently acquired forward had multiple-point games in both Arizona wins scoring a goal with three assists in the 'Dogs 6-5 win over Odessa on Saturday and notching a goal with an assist in his team's 3-2 win at Amarillo on Sunday. Hinz was traded for by Arizona on January 20 (from Missouri) and combined he has 37 points (12-25=37) in 37 games.
DeCaro finished the week with three victories stopping 93 of the 101 shots he faced keeping grip on the third seed in the Northern Conference for his team. The Marysville, Washington native scored wins versus Texas, Rio Grande Valley and Colorado with the jewel being the Eagles win where he turned away 38 of 41 shots eventually winning 4-3 in overtime. The two-time winner of the CHL's Most Outstanding Goaltender award is 9-2-1 in his last 12 decisions and is 14-8-1 on the season. DeCaro capped off his great week by assisting on the overtime game winning goal in the win versus the Eagles.
In recognition of their achievements both Hinz and DeCaro will receive a special gift from Oakley.
