Shock Add Depth at O-Line With Former Redskin

December 16, 2009 - Arena Football League (AFL) Spokane Shock

December 16, 2009 - Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that OL Devin Clark has been added to the 2010 roster.

Clark, 6-4 317, participated in the 2008 NFL Combine where he impressed the Redskins with signed him to a free-agent contract. Clark played in the final three games of the regular season on the active roster after spending the first 13 games on the practice squad. The Redskins re-signed Clark for the 2009 season, but released him after their third pre-season game against the Patriots.

"When you look at Devin Clark's film from the Redskins, you immediately notice his size and his strength," Head Coach Rob Keefe said. "At New Mexico, he was a major part of their offensive success and he really excelled in pass protection. With his size and his NFL experience he will be a real asset to our offensive line."

Before joining the Redskins, Clark starred at the University of New Mexico and quickly earned a reputation as one of the top offensive lineman in the Mountain West Conference.

As a senior (2007), Clark was named first team all-Mountain West Conference and allowed only three sacks on 450 pass attempts in 13 games. That same season, the Lobos finished third in sacks allowed in the Mountain West Conference. In his junior season, Clark started 12 games and anchored an offensive line that accounted for over 4,000 yards in total offense.
