K-Hawks Acquire First And Second Round Picks For Prout And Hill

November 10, 2009 - National Lacrosse League (NLL) Rochester Knighthawks

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Knighthawks Owner and General Manager Curt Styres announced today that the team has acquired the Edmonton Rush's first-round selection in the 2011 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft and a conditional second-round selection in 2011 or 2010 in exchange for forwards Gavin Prout and Dean Hill.

"We went out and were looking for players and we were fortunate to get Gavin Prout in the Ilija (Gajic) deal. We wanted to get four picks for Ilija and now we got them," said Styres, who also got two picks in an earlier trade with Colorado. "We also wanted to give Dean more of an opportunity and will get that in Edmonton."

The Knighthawks had acquired Prout, along with Andrew Potter and two first-round selections in the 2010 Entry Draft, from the Colorado Mammoth on October 31st. In exchange, Rochester sent the rights of Gajic and its first-round selection in the 2012 Entry Draft to Colorado.

The Knighthawks will open their 2010 NLL Training Camp on Sunday, November 22nd at Total Sports Experience in Gates (880 Elmgrove Rd). The Knighthawks will hit the floor from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. The practice is free and open to the public. Players and coaches will be available for autographs following the workout.

The practice falls on the first of two weekends that the K-Hawks will be in Rochester as they prepare for their season opener on Saturday, January 9th. That night, Rochester hosts the Buffalo Bandits at 8:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena.
