Edmonton , AB-- The Edmonton Rush are pleased to announce today that the team's official practice facility for the 2010 National Lacrosse League season is the Leduc Recreation Centre which will also host the club's training camp beginning December 5.

The location and amenities of the Leduc Recreation Centre make it the ideal spot for the Rush to conduct practice and training camp, according to Rush Owner Bruce Urban.

"The NLL season is very hectic but being able to have our players practice at a location just a few minutes away from their arrival at the airport is going to make a major difference," noted Urban. "The less time our players spend being toted around to far-off training centres the more time they will have to work on everything from transition attacks to power plays - and that is going to pay off in the standings as well."

City of Leduc Mayor Greg Krischke is excited about the new partnership with the professional lacrosse team.

"We look forward to the many mutual benefits this new agreement will bring to the City of Leduc and the Rush."

"Not only will it bring additional visitors into the LRC, we expect our local lacrosse organization to develop into one of the strongest organizations in the province through the exposure from the Rush."

The new 309,000 square foot Leduc Recreation features two new ice surfaces, two fieldhouses, a 9,000 square foot fitness centre, a running track plus the existing pools, performance arena and eight-sheet curling rink.

The Rush opens the regular season on the road against the Washington Stealth on January 15 and the next day against the Colorado Mammoth at Pepsi Center on Saturday, January 16. The Rush opens its home regular season on Saturday, January 23 against the Buffalo Bandits at Rexall Place.
