ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Round Rock Express Baseball Club announced the addition of three front-office employees Tuesday. Larry Little was named director of communications, while Chris Almendarez and Neil Moore joined the staff as senior account executives.
Little, a 1998 journalism graduate of Louisiana Tech University, comes to the Express after nine-plus years with the Baylor University Athletic Media Relations staff. While at Baylor, Little served as primary media contact for the Bears' baseball program and secondary contact for the football program. He also handled publications and graphic design for Baylor Athletic Media Relations. Little previously worked in athletic media relations at Mississippi State University, the University of Virginia and his alma mater. He also served two tours of duty as press officer for the USA Baseball National Team, including the 2008 undefeated World Champion squad.
Almendarez, a graduate of the University of Houston where he played baseball, joined the Express staff in October. He previously was a professional sales consultant for SkinMedica Pharmaceuticals. Prior to that, Almendarez was sales manager for KEY Enterprises, and he spent time with Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Team Sports Incorporated. Almendarez, who played two seasons at Howard Junior College prior to his time at Houston, is active in youth sports in the Round Rock area and has coached over 35 teams during the past 10 years. He will coordinate all Express baseball camps, clinics and academies, and he will work with season ticket sales, group outings and corporate sponsorships.
Neil Moore is a graduate of Ottawa [Kan.] University, where he was a two-sport athlete as quarterback for the Braves' football team and an outfielder for the OU baseball team. He joined the Express in October after working with the Portland Beavers (San Diego Padres Triple-A affiliate) and the Portland Timbers USL-Division 1 soccer team. Moore's focus with the Express is building new corporate relationships through sponsorships, group nights and ticket packages while also maintaining relationships with existing clientele.
