Columbus Cottonmouths News Release
COLUMBUS, Ga. The Columbus Cottonmouths will begin their sixth season of play in the SPHL this weekend with a pair of home games against the Fayetteville FireAntz. In the last game the two teams played against each other last April 1, Fayetteville ousted the Snakes from playoff contention with a 2-0 victory in the deciding Game 5 of their semifinal series. As with Columbus, the FireAntz return many players from the team that was within one game of capturing the Presidents Cup championship. Fayetteville will spend the weekend in Columbus, with back-to-back games between the FireAntz and Cottonmouths Friday and Saturday night at the Snake Pit. Both games will begin at 7:30 PM EDT. Both games will be broadcast on B2 Networks with both a video and audio feed. There is a nominal fee associated with each game; details can be found at HYPERLINK "http://www.cottonmouths.com" www.cottonmouths.com.

The Cottonmouths will play a pair of games this weekend against the Fayetteville FireAntz, the first two of 11 games the two teams will play against each other this season. By virtue of Richmond and Twin City not being in the league this season, the Snakes have become the second-closest team in terms of distance to Fayetteville is the closest). After this weekend, however, the FireAntz will not return to the Snake Pit until January 17, while the Cottonmouths will travel to Fayetteville three times during that span. The Snakes will look to avenge their first-round playoff loss last season at the hands of the FireAntz despite taking 12 standing points in ten games against them in the regular season.
