LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. - The Lake Elsinore Storm would like to announce that the world famous Elsinore Grand Prix is back. On Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8 the historic race, which took place through Lake Elsinore's downtown area in the 1960's and '70's, will begin and end at The Diamond.Storm Events, a subsidiary of Storm Baseball, has taken over as the race organizer and plans to create a racing atmosphere that is competitive and comfortable for all attending. Storm President Dave Oster added, "Our goal is to improve and grow this event each year until it becomes the premier Grand Prix that it deserves to be."
Over the two-day race, fans can enjoy traditional race classes such as vintage, quads, two and four strokes and many others. In addition, the 100 mile Harvey Mushman race will begin at 1:00pm on Sunday, November 8. The race, that marks the end of the two-day Grand Prix, was named after the late actor and racer Steve McQueen, who participated in the event in 1971 under the name Harvey Mushman. Oster concluded, "We understand the history and importance of this race to the city of Lake Elsinore and to the riders who have a passion to see this event thrive."
Saturday, November 7, The Diamond will also host Rockfest inside the stadium. In addition to other acts, the rock concert will feature such legendary hair bands as Warrant and Great White. Tickets for the concert start at $25 and can be bought online or at the ticket office. Kids 12 and under get in free.
