PEORIA, Ill. (October 12, 2009) - Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced today the St. Louis Blues have reassigned forward Anthony Peluso from Peoria to the Blues' ECHL affiliate, the Alaska Aces.
Peluso, 20, played in one game this season with Peoria registering five penalty minutes in a fight with Rockford's Ryan Flinn. Last season, the 6-4, 234-pound winger started the season with Sault Ste. Marie but was traded in January to Brampton of the Ontario Hockey League. In a combined 63 games, Peluso collected 20 goals, 17 assists and 125 penalty minutes. He also posted 15 points (8g, 7a) and 29 penalty minutes in 21 playoff games for Brampton.
The North York, Ontario native was originally drafted by the Blues in the sixth round, 160th overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
The next Rivermen game is on Wednesday in Peoria at 7 p.m. when the Rivermen take on the Milwaukee Admirals for the second consecutive game. It is the fourth game of their season-long five-game home stand to start the season.
