
Canadiens Assign Yannick Weber To The Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that defenceman Yannick Weber has been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs from the Montreal Canadiens.
Weber, 21, played in three games with the Canadiens this season but was held pointless. In 2008-2009, the 5-foot-11 193-pound blueliner played in 68 games with the 'Dogs leading all defencemen on the team in points with 44 (16 goals, 28 assists) along with 42 penalty minutes. Weber's 16 goals set a new Bulldogs franchise record for most goals in a season by a 'Dogs defencemen. The native of Morges, Switzerland also played in three regular season games with the Canadiens last season recording one assist and two penalty minutes while earning a goal and an assist in three post-season games with Montreal in the 2009 NHL playoffs. Weber was drafted in the 3rd round, 73rd overall by the Canadiens in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
The Bulldogs travel to Peoria to battle the Rivermen on Friday, October 16th at 8:00 p.m. EST.
