
Red Claws Launch Young Leaders Program

PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Quirk Chevrolet, today announced the launch of the Maine Red Claws Young Leaders Program. The team has partnered with PROPEL and the Portland Press Herald and Maine Sunday Telegram in this unique year-long program that will give professionals and community leaders access to some of the top business persons in Maine. The announcement was made by Maine Red Claws President and General Manager Jon Jennings.
"The Maine Red Claws ownership group and partners represents some of the top business people in the state of Maine," said Jon Jennings. "This program will give up-and-coming business leaders the opportunity to network with one another while learning from some of the top professionals in the state to help them develop the skills they need to help further their roles as business and community leaders in Maine."
The Maine Red Claws Young Leaders Program will feature exclusive access to ten development events over the next year. Confirmed guest speakers include: Bill Ryan, Chairman of the Board of TD Bank, Inc.; Michael Dubyak, President and CEO of Wright Express Corporation; Richard Connor, CEO of MaineToday Media; Eileen Skinner, CEO of Mercy Hospital; John Leonard, CEO of MEMIC; and Stephen Goodrich, Founder/CEO of PowerPay. Membership is limited to 150 people, ages 40 and under, and the program is co-sponsored by the Portland Press Herald and PROPEL, a greater Portland young professionals networking and business organizational group formed in association with the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce.

"PROPEL's mission is to advance our member's professional development via fun, informal networking opportunities and community outreach. I think the program that the Red Claws have developed does just that."

The $300 fee for the program includes a season ticket for the Maine Red Claws inaugural season, access to the ten Young Leaders Program events, including a Maine Red Claws open practice event and pre-game "Chalk Talk" with the Red Claws coaching staff, and a team gift. Members will also have the opportunity to participate in a group service project designed to demonstrate the impact that young professionals can have on bettering their community. An informational meeting will be held October 8 at the Portland Harbor Hotel from 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM for anyone interested in learning more about the program.
