SPRINGFIELD, MA September 18, 2009 - The Springfield Armor will host dance team auditions this Saturday, September 19th at the MassMutual Center, which is located at 1277 Main Street in Springfield. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m.
The one-day auditions for the dance team, known as the Armorettes, will be conducted from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and all participants must be at least 18 years of age. The auditions will be conducted by Armorettes Director and Choreographer Amy Ruelle Leigner and Assistant Director Kara Gagne, and there will be a panel of six judges present. Names of the tryout participants chosen to be members of the dance team will be posted on the Armor Web site no later than the morning of Sunday, September 20th.
The official dance team of the Armor, the Armorettes will perform at all 24 home games beginning with the season opener against the Iowa Energy on November 27th. Members of the Armorettes also will represent the Armor in numerous community events and other appearances.
