Adirondack Phantoms News Release

GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, announced during a press conference Tuesday morning that the team has partnered with the Adirondack Broadcasting Company to carry all team radio broadcasts on Classic Hits Q101.7 FM.

The Phantoms and Adirondack Broadcasting have agreed to a three-year deal to make WNYQ the team's flagship station. The first broadcast will take place during the Phantoms' 2009-10 season opener on Saturday, October 3rd against the Worcester Sharks at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Voice of the Phantoms Owen Newkirk will provide the play-by-play commentary for all 80 regular season games and all 2010 Phantoms' Calder Cup playoff games.

"We are very excited to be teaming up with Adirondack Broadcasting to bring the Phantoms broadcasts to Q-101.7 FM," said Newkirk. "The station has an excellent coverage area, a strong signal on the FM dial and is backed by great enthusiasm that will help us provide a first class radio broadcast."

Tom Barney, General Manager for the five Glens Falls Radio Stations that make up Adirondack Broadcasting, expressed his excitement, along with that of everyone with the stations, to be The Station for Phantom Hockey.

"Adirondack Broadcasting is very excited to the Glens Falls Stations for Phantoms Hockey in the next three years," said Barney. "WNYQ 101.7 is an FM station that covers the North Country and Phantom Hockey is the only sports team the station will carry so there will be able to broadcast every game of the 80-game season plus any playoff games. Q-101.7 will carry other Phantom programming like a weekly talk show and a coach's show. The first game will be here before we know it and we hope to be broadcasting from a filled Civic Center all season."

In addition to carrying all Phantoms games on Q-101.7 FM, the team will also partner with Adirondack Broadcasting to provide a free live web stream of the broadcasts, which will be accessible through the club's website. Fans can also watch the Phantoms games live on the internet all season long via AHL Live.

The Adirondack Phantoms will open their 2009 Pre-Season campaign on September 19th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey against the Lowell Devils. Adirondack will hit the Civic Center ice on Friday, September 25th for their home pre-season game against the Albany River Rats. The Phantoms 2009-10 Home Opener is slated for Saturday, October 3rd at 7:30 pm at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

2009-10 Phantoms full and partial season ticket packages are on sale now at the Phantoms office. For more information please contact the Adirondack Phantoms at (518) 480-3355 or online at www.phantomshockey.com.
