The Boston Breakers take to the road for the first of two important matches this week when they face the Washington Freedom, Wednesday at 8 p.m. The game can be seen live regionally on Comcast SportsNet.
The Breakers (7-6-4, 25 points) are currently in third place and will clinch a playoff berth with a win. The Freedom (6-6-5, 23 points) are tied for fourth place with Sky Blue FC, but have a game in hand over their New Jersey rivals. Boston already has clinched the season series with Washington with a 2-0-1 record thus far. Last time the teams met, the Breakers won, 1-0, at home on June 24.
Boston is unbeaten in its last three matches and have not allowed a goal in 323 consecutive minutes. The Freedom have also gone unbeaten in its previous three matches, including wins in their last two.
