Idaho Steelheads News Release

(Boise, ID) - Defenseman Kyle Radke and forward Casey Parenteau have agreed to terms with the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads, giving head coach Derek Laxdal ten players for his 2009 training camp roster.

Radke appeared in 54 regular-season games and three postseason contests with the Steelheads last season. The Bashaw, Alberta, product had five points (1 goal, 4 assists) and 155 penalty minutes in his rookie campaign. His first professional goal was a memorable one, a game-winner from the blue line, deflected high in the air and over the head of unsuspecting Victoria netminder Todd Ford on March 4.

"Kyle made huge progress over the last couple months of the season," Laxdal noted. "We're looking for him to continue that growth as a player and a leader."

Parenteau, 23, comes to Idaho out of Saint Lawrence University where he posted 23 points (8 goals, 15 assists) in 26 games during the 2008-2009 season, which was cut short because of a leg injury in January. He finished his college career with 41 goals, leading Idaho's head coach to expect big things.

"He's still got to prove himself at the professional level," Laxdal said of the White Bear Lake, MN, native. "But we're looking forward to seeing him win a job on one of the top two lines of our club."

Radke and Parenteau join Matt McKnight, Matt Cook, Matt Sorteberg, Michael Olson, Brandan Kushniruk, Weston Tardy, Alan Tallarini, and Tyrell Mason as players who have agreed to terms with the Steelheads for the 2009-2010 season.

Season-ticket packages for the 2009-2010 season are available now, starting as low as $450 per seat for all 36 home games. Partial-season ticket packages are available for as little as $150. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or visit www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.
