
Fourth Of July Celebration Ignites Beavers' Homestand

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Beavers open a four-game homestand against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox today at PGE Park with the team's annual Independence Day celebration presented by Portland General Electric, featuring special post-game fireworks.
Festivities for the Beavers' Independence Day celebration presented by PGE begin at 5:30 p.m. when gates open at PGE Park. The first 1,903 fans receive a Beavers patriotic hat courtesy of PGE. Following the game, fans will be treated to a special extended fireworks presentation taking place over center field.
For Saturday, the Beavers are offering a special $35 ticket that includes seating in the exclusive Widmer Brothers group area near the visitors' dugout and an all-you-can-eat menu of hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, cookies and soft drinks (through the bottom of the sixth inning). These tickets are available by calling the Beavers ticket office at (503) 553-5555.
The holiday weekend continues at PGE Park with fun for the whole family on an American Family Insurance Kids Sunday. Prior to the first pitch, kids 12 and under can take advantage of the Beavers' new Kids-Eat-Free plan prior to the first pitch, play catch on the field and get player autographs. Kids are invited to run the bases at PGE Park after the game, presented by Family Fun Center and Bullwinkle's Restaurant.
Take advantage of the early summer weather and spend the afternoon at the ballpark with the Beavers as they wrap up their four-game series with a special day game on a Fred Meyer $4 Tuesday on July 7; first pitch is set for 1:05 p.m. During the day, 200 general admission tickets will be available for $4 through the PGE Park box office and Ticketmaster outlets at local Fred Meyer locations.
Saturday's contest against Colorado Springs is the first of three televised games this series on FSN.

Home Run Derby Monday - Beavers vs. Colorado Springs - 7:05 p.m.
A four-game series against the Sky Sox continues on a Home Run Derby Monday presented by American Family Insurance. Take part in the season-long MLB 2K9 tourney and earn a shot to play in the championship round at the end of the season.

Fred Meyer $4 Tuesday / Businessperson Special - Beavers vs. Colorado Springs - 1:05 p.m.
Portland closes its final homestand before the Cricket Wireless Triple-A All-Star Game with a businessperson special day game on a Fred Meyer $4 Tuesday at PGE Park. Throughout the day, 200 general admission tickets will be available for $4 through the PGE Park box office and Ticketmaster outlets at local Fred Meyer locations. The Beavers' matchup against Colorado Springs will air live on FSN.
