Bulldogs to Host Senators in the Regular Season

HAMILTON, ON - Hamilton Bulldogs President and Governor Glenn Stanford announced today that for the third time in franchise history, the hockey club will play a regular season game in their National Hockey League affiliate's arena. On Friday, November 6th, 2009, the Hamilton Bulldogs, AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, will host the Binghamton Senators, AHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators, at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec. The regular season game, which is a presentation of Gillett Entertainment Group, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Last season, Hamilton finished in second place in the North Division with 102 points, the second-highest total in the 13-season history of the franchise. The 2008-2009 Bulldogs featured a number of the Montreal Canadiens' top prospects including David Desharnais, Ben Maxwell and Yannick Weber, the team's co-Rookies of the Year, as well as Mathieu Carle, Cedrick Desjardins, Max Pacioretty, Ryan Russell, Greg Stewart, Brock Trotter and Ryan White.

The Hamilton Bulldogs first played at the Bell Centre on March 18th, 2007 when they hosted the Syracuse Crunch, months before winning their first Calder Cup Championship in franchise history. The Habs' current roster features five graduates from the ‘Dogs 2006-2007 AHL championship team in goaltender Carey Price, defenceman Ryan O'Byrne and forwards Maxim Lapierre, Matt D'Agostini and Andrei Kostitsyn. Last season the Hamilton Bulldogs hosted the Binghamton Senators at Bell Centre on November 30th, 2008 in front of more than 14,000 fans.
