Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Brandon, Manitoba - The Brandon Wheat Kings have announced that close to 2,700 Season Tickets have been purchased for the 2009-10 Western Hockey League season.
The Wheat Kings are well on their way to establishing a club record as the WHL team sold a team high 2,780 during the 2008-09 campaign.
Those fans that have renewed their season tickets will now have until October 15th to purchase their 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup ticket package, which will be sold for $399 plus GST.
Because the club must provide the Canadian Hockey League with 1,800 seats for this prestigious event, only the first 3,302 season ticket holders will be guaranteed their seat for the Championship, scheduled for Brandon's Keystone Centre May 14th - 23rd, 2010.
Of the 2,700 season tickets sold so far this spring, over four hundred have been purchased by "new" season ticket holders.
Now that the June 5th Early Bird Deadline has come and gone and last week's Seat Moving Day is behind us, western Manitoba hockey fans are encouraged to consider 2009-10 Season Tickets and have the opportunity to take in all of the action of what will be one of, if not the biggest event to ever come to Brandon.
To order Season Tickets, fans can visit the Wheat Kings' office or call 726-3535. For more information visit the team's official website, located at www.wheatkings.com
For the first time in franchise history, the Wheat Kings have earned the right to play host to the MasterCard Memorial Cup. This will also mark the first time that Manitoba has hosted this Championship. It also comes during the province's 140th Anniversary Celebrations.
It will also mark the Wheat Kings' fifth Memorial Cup appearance, having competed for the National Championship in 1949, 1979, 1995 and '96.
