Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
Rancho Cucamonga, CA- For the third time in the series, Lancaster plated multiple runs in the 1st inning as Alexander Torres walked three batters before Eric Suttle singled to right field to produce two runs and give the JetHawks a 2-0 lead.
The Quakes would answer in the bottom of the 1st after Clay Fuller and Andrew Romine singled and executed a double steal to get to second and third. With one out, Lancaster intentionally walked Julio Perez and Efren Navarro made them pay as he singled to left center to bring home two to tie the game 2-2.
Torres continued to struggle with his control into the 4th inning as he walked two more batters and allowed a bloop single to right to load the bases before being taken out for reliever Steven Geltz. Geltz allowed a fly ball to center for a sacrifice fly to let Lancaster take the lead back 3-2, but did not allow anyone else to score in the inning.
Rancho tied it up in the 4th as Jeremy Moore singled, went to second on a sacrifice, to third on a ground out and scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-3.
The Quakes would take the lead for the first time in the 6th as Efren Navarro walked to lead off the inning to chase starter Shane Wolf from the game. Jeremy Moore followed with a single to center to advance Navarro to third. PJ Phillips then grounded out allowing Navarro to score and give the Quakes a 4-3 lead.
