
Yan Stastny and Tyson Strachan Return from St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (April 22, 2009) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today that the club has assigned forward Yan Stastny and defenseman Tyson Strachan to the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.
Stastny, 26, played in 34 games this season with the Blues, registering seven points (three goals, four assists) along with 20 penalty minutes. He also recorded 19 points (12 goals, seven assists) and 21 penalty minutes in 30 regular season games with Peoria. Stastny has four points (two goals, two assists) in three playoff games this season with the Rivermen.
The Quebec City, Quebec native was originally Boston's eighth round selection, 259th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
Strachan, 24, appeared in 30 regular season games with the Blues and accounted for three assists and 39 penalty minutes. This season with Peoria he scored two goals and had three assists in 29 games. Last season, Strachan appeared in 16 playoff games with the Las Vegas Wranglers (ECHL) and had four assists.
The Melfort, Saskatchewan native was originally Carolina's fifth round selection, 137th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
