Florida Panthers Reassign Ellerby To Rochester

March 5, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL) - Rochester Americans News Release


(Rochester, NY)... Florida Panthers General Manager Jacques Martin announced today that defenseman Keaton Ellerby has been reassigned to the Rochester Americans (AHL). He was recalled for Florida's game in Atlanta Tuesday night but did not dress for the contest.

Ellerby, 20, has played in 57 games with Rochester this year registering 15 points (0+15) and 30 PIM. The Strathmore, Alberta native played in three games for Florida during training camp, before being assigned to the Americans in September.

Ellerby was drafted by Florida with their first choice (10th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Florida (33-23-8) opens a two-game homestand on Thursday, March 5th when they host the Pittsburgh Penguins. The game can be seen live on FS Florida and heard on SportsTalk 790 The Ticket beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The Amerks hit the ice Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and will be in action Saturday afternoon for a 1:00 p.m. matinee. Both contests will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live. Saturday's game will also be broadcast live over the NHL Network. Fans can head down to The Distillery on Winton Road (3010) for the Amerks Official Viewing Party. Meet the Amerks Moose and win prizes throughout the afternoon.
