(February 8, 2009 Manchester, NH): The Manchester Millrats downed the visiting Quebec Kebs 94-82 at Southern New Hampshire University, and took sole possession of first place the Atlantic Division.
Manchester pounced on the Kebs from the outset, leading 18-4 several minutes into the contest. The lead extended to 20 points in the second quarter. Only a late fourth quarter flurry of three pointers by Quebec's Alfred Neale and Dominic Soucy cut the lead under double digits. Manchester held Quebec to just 37% shooting for the game.
Desmond Ferguson played another strong game with 26 points. Al Stewart added 16 points and 7 assists, Sam Carey scored 14, Scott Hazelton 12, and Alex Owumi 11. Jean-Philippe Morin led Quebec with 21.
With the win, the Millrats improve to 8-3 on the season and the Kebs drop to 2-7.
Manchester hosts two home games next weekend. The first on Friday at 7:30pm, and the Vermont Frost Heaves on Sunday at 2:30pm.
