FRESNO, CA - On Tuesday morning GameOps.com recognized the Fresno Grizzlies with their 2008 ‘Best Team Operations' Award. The honor lauds the best in game entertainment, presentation, and operations throughout the world of professional sports. In 2007 the Grizzlies received an Honorable Mention in the category, signifying consistent excellence in the fan experience.

"Our first priority as an organization is ensuring every Grizzlies fan enjoys their trip to the ballpark and takes a memory home with them regardless of whether the game results in a win or loss for the home team," said Grizzlies Senior Vice President of Marketing Scott Carter. "Being honored as not only the best in Minor League Baseball, but in professional sports, is a tremendous honor for our staff and our community.

According to GameOps.com: "Looking over the nominations and stand-out promotions for 2008, one team repeatedly is mentioned. Sporting a top mascot (Parker), a top entertainment team (Drag Kings), and several top promotions (Mascot Showdown and Totally Rad 80's Night) the Fresno Grizzlies do it all extraordinarily well across the board, making them an easy pick for top team in 2008."

The ‘Best Team Operations' recognition is the latest honor of an offseason for the Fresno Grizzlies that already included a pair of Promotion Of The Year awards, as well as a nod for Best Marketing Campaign in all of baseball.

Other organizations who were cited for their excellent team entertainment operations by GameOps.com included the Columbus Blue Jackets and Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League. Gameops.com is a resource web site designed to connect teams and event producers with ideas and tools that will enhance the entertainment value of their events.
