Roughnecks to make appearance at GMFL Fall Pro Show

ODESSA, TX. : The GMFL (Greater Midland Football League) in association with Skilz Skoolz of America LP., will be hosting their first annual NFL Alumni Pro Show at Grande Communications Stadium on Sunday, November 16th, 2008 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The purpose of the event is to raise money for the advancement of youth sports and promote health and physical fitness in West Texas.

The Odessa Roughnecks will be part of a two hour exhibition game that will launch the new fund-raising and fitness awareness campaign. The main Pro Show event on November 16th will include countless professional players, all of whom played on a NFL Superbowl or Pro-Bowl Team, or were a First Round Draft Pick. Special accommodations to go along with the exhibition game will be a V.I.P. Sponsor lunch, and photo/autograph sessions. The 800 - plus children, for whom the game is being promoted, will be rewarded by watching the game up close and personal from the sidelines. The expected 10,000 - plus crowd will consist of proud parents, local sponsors, and community supporters.

Former NFL players to be in attendance for the event on Sunday, November 16th include Kevin Smith, Leon Lett, Broderick Thomas, Michael Downs, Kevin Williams, and Larry Centers.

The Odessa Roughnecks additionally announced on Friday, November 14th, 2008 that Ernie Salcido has been named the Assistant General Manager. Ernie is entering his sixth season with the Roughnecks front office and is a '98 graduate of Odessa High School. Ernie has held many responsibilities for the organization including; sales, marketing, arena preparation, ticket operations, and public relations. He and his longtime girlfriend, Angela, are the proud parents of Isabella Danielle who is just about 7 months old.

"I am very excited to continue to be a part of one of the upper echelon teams in the Indoor Football League. I look forward on continuing to assist the Roughnecks in any aspect of the organization." stated Odessa Roughnecks Assistant General Manager, Ernie Salcido.

"We are excited to name Ernie as Assistant General Manager. He has been a valuable asset to the Roughnecks organization, and we are confident he will continue great work for the club." stated Odessa Roughnecks General Manager, Harold Fuller.
